This original piece is titled ”Apple of my Eye”. It is painted on 22x30” Saunders Waterford paper, and is signed by the artist.
This is the seventh painting in the story about life on a still life table in which I am exploring various styles of painting still life. “Apple of my Eye” is painted in the style of Jules Cheret, the father of the modern poster.
The blood orange who Japp recognised to be the hot headed Italian Romeo Tarocco, was sitting on the edge of the punch bowl filled with passion fruit juice and surrounded by candles. The apple of his eye, his Juliet, was bathing provocatively in the passion fruit juice while Romeo held out a rose for his dearest love.
"Oh thou of skin so smooth and fair who's blossoms scent the springtime air. Join thou with me, for I have a hunch, Our union would make quite a punch!"
