This original piece is titled ”Stealing the Limelight”. It is painted on 22x30” Saunders Waterford paper, and is signed by the artist.
This is the sixth painting in the story about life on a still life table in which I am exploring various styles of painting still life. “Stealing the Limelight” is painted in the surrealist style.
The marmalade making process had been dramatically halted by the discovery of a very sick lime who is losing his zest for life. He thinks he has lost his appeel, and feeling bitter and twisted is crying out in anguish from within his brightly lit isolation room. Despite being one of the only remaining lemons to survive the cruel massacre led by inspector Jap, Dr Tang, clad in his isolation robe and mask, approaches for a closer examination of the sickly patient. He diagnoses a clear case of lime disease and fears that it may be contagious.
