This well known national Trust Garden in Kent is one of the most visited in the United Kingdom. Sissinghurst gardens was created in the 1930s by Vita Sackville-West, poet and gardening writer, and her husband Harold Nicholson author and diplomat. The garden is designed as a series of "rooms", each with a different character of colour and theme. The cottage garden is red, yellow & orange. It was laid out between 1930 and 1931 by Vita herself who was also a keen gardener. As you look at this painting you can almost imagine Vita pottering about in the garden, or sitting at her chair writing another novel. Maybe it is just a trick played by the shadows but I am sure she is somewhere in the painting. The Robin looks as if he can see her, after all he is a gardener’s friend. Our intention is to charge shipping at cost, however the shopping cart we are using doesn’t cater for this. The shipping charges you see when you add an item to the cart are appropriate for a single item to Canada and the USA. If you order multiple items it is likely that we can ship for less than the cumulative price the cart will calculate - we will refund the difference. On the other hand, if you are ordering from outside Canada/USA the shipping may be more than indicated. If so, we will need to contact you with the additional cost. Obviously you may decline if you wish, in which case we will refund your order in full.
